Starting back to school

It's July 31st, and we're halfway through our first official week of school. I've already been asked multiple times why we're starting back to school so early. I mean, we home school so why give up our summer?  I actually have a few reasons, and I shall list them here. =) 1. It's too hot to do anything besides go to the pool, and kids get tired of the pool if you go everyday. And all of the indoor things that are so fun and cool cost money. Not much is cheap when it involves 4 people. So why waste the time when they can work? ;) 2. We did not accomplish as much as I feel like we should have last year so we're starting early to play catch up. Yeah, I said it. I don't even feel that guilty anymore. It was one of those years that kept me focused on other things and school took a backseat when other important things came up. 3. Things will ALWAYS come up throughout the year. People will get sick. Extra work gets piled on at the last second. If we start ear...

That's it. I call BS.

So here it goes...I have read more mommy related, guilt inducing articles and posts in the last few months than I care to remember. The next person that says "I love EVERY moment of being a mom" will flat out get called a liar. By me. Because you're lying. You just are. I easily admit that there are things about being a mom that I really do not like.  Those moments when my babies would. not. sleep. I didn't love it. Did I have moments where I looked down into their crying faces and thought, "I love you!"? Sure! Did I look at them and think "I JUST WANT TO SLEEEEEEEP! WHY WON'T YOU STOP CRYING?!?!?!"  Absolutely!  Or the moments when the kids have thrown up on me, in the car, on the floor, on the carpet, on the carpet again, on the bed, on the new sheets I just changed, all over the carseat (because those are sooo easy to clean)? Hate those moments. I hate every part of it. I hate that my child is sick. I hate that everything smells like puke. ...

July Mayhem

So, we have BIG news in our family. BIG. HUGE. LIFE CHANGING NEWS. And...I can't share it. It's killing me because we're so excited, but I can't. Before you ask, the answer is No. I am not pregnant. That kind of news would be classified under the "Mindy might just have a heart attack or nervous breakdown" category. My news is exciting, although now that I think about it, our news might qualify under the nervous breakdown category as well.  Prayers would be appreciated because big things are happening in our family. In other news, the past few weeks have been a little crazier than usual.  Pressure has been building over the last few weeks, and yesterday it exploded all over the place like a giant soda that's been shaken and opened. It was messy. I had a plan for the day. I actually have a plan for the week with very little wiggle room.  I tried to put my week-long to-do list onto my phone, and my phone told me I had run out of space on my memo. My PHONE t...
