Apologies and fasts

Hello friends. I feel like a public apology is in order. After all, if the offense is public, so should the apology be. A few days ago I posted some jokes about Myrtle Beach. I made so many  jokes about the trip. It was all in fun, but it was also an exhibition of pride and ungratefulness. Is Myrtle Beach my favorite place? No, and that's okay. It never will be. It's not my preference, and I don't apologize for that. But to act like I'm better than Myrtle Beach? Well, that's not okay. It's snobbery and pretentiousness, which is exactly what I do not want to be. My preferences are not the standard for anyone. I alienated people and made them feel judged for liking something that I do not care for, and for that, I am deeply sorry. If my friends out there love Myrtle Beach, then that's wonderful. It has a lot of great things to offer. I always loved going when I was growing up. I promise I will not roll my eyes if you tell me you're going there for vacation...

She needs to do something GRAND. She decides that she is going to cook dinner while mommy is upstairs with the baby. Charlotte can't read, but she pulls down a cookbook. She drops it on the floor. Pages fall out. She ...

February updates and a big eye roll at the news

Hello, friends. It's been extra busy the last few weeks so you've missed out on my Dumont updates. I've written a couple of things that I've opted to hold off on posting, but those posts are not ready for reading yet. I'm sure I'll become angsty enough at some point to put it all out there. But anyway, what's going on with us? Well, we're in the final weeks of basketball. This week includes three games, one of which is in Savannah, GA. Then all that's left will be the tournament next weekend in Easley, SC. We've been doing our dentist appointments this week as well which takes up two mornings between the four of us. Matthew got sealants so he might try to tell you how traumatic his life is when you see him next. He has no perspective. So...yeah. Basically if you add 3 basketball games and four dentist appointments to my week, my time is consumed. What else has been going on? Well, I am in the middle of registration for our homeschool group for ...
