Dark chocolate covered cherries...how I love thee.

I'm taking time out of my busy day of school, laundry, cleaning, calendar and newsletter writing, and general child control to share this completely unimportant blog post. I have a problem. I used to have it under control, but this year...not so much. You see, I have a mild addiction to dark chocolate covered cherries. I Big Puffy Heart love them ! I'm convi nced that God Himself inspired the creation of these smooth, dark, sweet, mouth-watering, liquid gol d - filled treasures of candy. Usually, I'll only get a bo x every couple of weeks between the middle of November and New years. I'm not sure what happe ned to my self control this year, but it has completely let me down. This week, I'm on box number two. I bought two boxes last night because they were on sale 2/$3 and you had to buy two to get the sale price. Do the math people. I'm halfway done with BOX NUMBER TWO in less than a day!  My recent phone convo with Mr. Inc clued me in to how far down the da...

Anniversary Week!

It's Anniversary Week in the Dumont house!  That's right. This Saturday will mark 12 whole years since Mr. Incredible and I got married. It also means that my facebook friends get to read sappy statuses all week. I  admit I'm especially proud of this anniversary. I know 12 isn't a major milestone in the world of marriage, but it's a big deal for me.  Admittedly, anniversary 11 was a bit of a letdown. Instead of a celebration, it was more like "Oh look. We didn't kill each this year. Yay."  By the way, no one tells you that NOT KILLING your spouse might be the highlight of a year. ;)  Someone should get on that. Really.    No, this year was much happier, and I can honestly say that we are happier and more in luuuurve than ever. Anniversaries and birthdays always make me want to list up everything that's happened so far, so I thought I'd list a few things from our 12 years and counting... 5 moves (That's not so bad really...if we hadn...

Save yourself the embarrassment and don't yell in restuarants.

So I'll just get right to it. I lost my temper tonight in the middle of dinner at a nice restaurant with our friends. There was yelling and gesticulation involved. My husband and friends had to tell me to be quiet. I am usually a very controlled person, and I couldn't tell you the last time I lost my temper in such a way. It was embarrassing to say the least.  It was one of those moments where it took about 3 seconds for my brain to catch up to my volume. In my head, I thought to myself, "You're yelling. In a restaurant. About something that yelling won't fix. You need to be quiet!" 1.... 2.... 3.... And THEN I was quiet. er. Thankfully we were at a rather loud restaurant and my friends know me well enough to freely laugh at my angry outburst. Trust me, they were right to laugh. I deserved to be laughed at. The reason for my little outburst doesn't really matter. Let's say it's a scheduling conflict. You know what, that's all. I do...

Voting

Tuesday is the big day. After years of political ads, we will finally get to vote our choice for POTUS.  This time around I have been pretty quiet about my political leanings. Occasionally I was compelled to crawl out of my self-prescribed political hole and tell people that they were wrong...I mean tell them my opinion. ;)   I've noticed something different this time around though.  Usually I have various friends posting various political memes, ads, or opinions. However, this time I've seen more people complaining about everyone else voicing their political views. Really? It bothers you that people in our country are engaged in a peaceful form of discussion about a topic and decision that affects our entire nation? I don't agree with all of my friends, but I DO appreciate seeing people engaged in our peaceful political process. Seriously, people are dying in other parts of the world to do what we do. I'm happy to skim through people's political posts. Yes, cer...
