Jam and other successes
A couple of months ago, I wrote a post entitled "Restlessness." You can read it here if you're so inclined. Now that I have a little more perspective, I can see that my restlessness was a warning that our lives were about to be jumbled around a little bit. Thankfully, things have settled down some, and I've swung back in my homeschool mommy groove. For the past couple of months we were trying to figure out possible job changes and waiting to see if Mr. Inc would be effected by the job furloughs that were threatened (he will be). And that's fine. The worst part was waiting and not knowing for sure what would happen. Now we know, and we'll make it through. God will provide everything we need just like He always has.
As for all the little things that were piling down on me, I've apparently shrugged that off too because Friday, I took the kids strawberry picking. Today, I made strawberry jam. Because, as I've already established, I'm awesome. Now as I write, I'm also in the process of making some more laundry detergent. I promise I'm not as weird and hippy-ish as I sound.
And that's about it. I just thought I'd let everyone know that the baking, pinterest loving, party throwing, kid-educating Mindy is back. Oh, and if you were wondering how the 5am thing is going, well, it's not going. I have learned that 5am is a little too ambitious for me at this point (no surprise there). However, I have realized that getting up at 7am isn't nearly so bad when it's compared to 5am. And 7am is still earlier than I was getting up before. So I still call my 5am test run a success. =)
